Artwork > Reverse Painted Plexiglas

I began working on Plexiglas in 2002. Painting on the back of clear Plexiglas was terribly fulfilling and allowed me to develop my abstract language with a hint of Surrealism, a touch of Pop, Superflat and hard edge. Always the hard edge. Collage, Pattern and decoration - The field. I made work in this way for 7 years. Through graduate school at Cranbrook and then into NYC making a handful of large paintings for a solo show at Lemberg Gallery in Detroit. In 2011 I was at Vermont Studio Center arts residency. I started making the Comb series work on Panels and I have continued to make that work until now (2017). But... over the years I have revisited this Plexiglas work here and there. I think it has finally been long enough that I can see the forest for the trees. Most of the Grad school voices are outta my head and my heart is back in the work. The result are these works. Enjoy!
